Mumford & Sons

Mike and Traci had quite the adventure last night! We trekked to Maryland to see alterna-folk group Mumford & Sons, our first non-kid-related concert in ages. We had a babysitter arrive soon after dinner and made the looooooong trip up to the concert venue. What should have only taken an hour actually took two due to rush hour traffic and a torrential rain storm. (The lightning and hail were so freaky that we feared that the concert would be cancelled before we even got there! Thank goodness we didn't have lawn seats.) We waited out the rain and made it to the concert just in time for the second opening act to finish. We barely had to time to catch up with our buddies, Rob and Kelly, before the concert began!

Once the band began, we knew we were in for a treat. This is the first major tour for the band, who broke out in America after an awesome live performance at last year's Grammys. The band pulled out all the stops, mixing new and old stuff, and jamming as long as they could. Everybody in the audience was singing along and clapping for joy. Every once in awhile Traci and Kelly would sit down to chat. (Well, Kelly sure had an excuse to rest....she is due with her third baby in less than a month!!) Anyway, we think the band is going to have quite a future if they can keep it up.

We finally made it home after midnight, and unfortunately Katie was awake due to the thunderstorms. It took another 20 minutes or so until she calmed down and then we all conked out from an awesome evening. Now Traci is counting down the days until her next big show.....U2!!
