Happy birthday to Mommy! It's never fun having your birthday fall on a Monday (especially the one after the change to Daylight Savings Time), but our family made sure to make it a special one. One advantage to the date was that everybody slept in longer than usual, so Traci was immediately blessed with the gift of sleep. Seriously, could anything beat that by way of presents? (More on that later...) Once everybody got home from work/school/playdates, we celebrated at home with a yummy pizza and even yummier cake. Don't mind those over-sized candles on top.
So, what special surprises did the family have in store for Traci? She had already reaped the benefits of the family gift (Duke basketball tickets), but everybody did their part today as well. Mike stayed later this morning and got home earlier this afternoon to spend extra time with all of us. Michael worked hard on building a special, extra-tall water tower out of Legos (see picture). And, Katie, while on a playdate with a neighbor, colored Mommy a masterpiece drawing. Who could ask for anything more?
