Bounce in the House!

You know you are in the midst of summer when you start to get obnoxiously busy with fun outdoor parties! Our family was invited to two fantastic parties today, and Katie was lucky to make it to both. (Michael went the more quiet route and slept through the first...) The first was a grand playground birthday party for Katie's buddy, Patrick. The fun festivities included lots of swinging, sliding, chalk drawing, pizza/cupcake eating, all in 90+ degree heat. (Yes, Mommy sat in the shade quite a bit while Katie was running around like a mad woman.) Even though that party would have been enough to keep us happy for the entire day, we had another to make just a few hours later. The entire family headed about an hour away to one of Mike's co-workers for a big tropical-themed BBQ, complete with a giant bounce house for kids. By this time, with no nap, Katie was running on pure adrenaline. She probably bounced in that bounce house for a total of 2 hours....all of which gave Mom and Dad lots of freedom to catch up with friends. Thankfully, both kids conked out on the long drive home. Katie's total fun tally for the day: 1 piece of pizza, 2 cupcakes, tons of yummy watermelon, a brand-new ball (cool party favor), and countless smiles and giggles. Priceless!
