Sorry for the lack of posts lately! Our life has been a whirlwind of travel lately, and we are just catching up. Last week, we ventured back to Traci's hometown in PA to enjoy the Fourth of July festivities with family and friends. To use a nice Fourth pun, we think the kids had an absolute BLAST! Being a little bit older now, Katie and Michael were able to soak up a bit more of the local scene this year, participating in fun stuff like the charity dunking booth, blow-up obstacle course, parade, and their first-ever live fireworks. (Of course, they watched the fireworks from atop a hill five miles out of town to avoid the loud sounds, but...hey...they saw them!) Some other highlights: meeting their "cousins" Talon (see video above - Talon is a St. Bernard about as large as Michael right now) and ABC Flower (Uncle Greg's racing horse), hanging out with the wonderful Pistilli family for the parade (Katie has a new idol in their 8-year-old Makena), raiding the entire children's section of the local library on a rainy afternoon, and setting off their own fireworks (mostly just pop-its and sparklers, but it was a big deal to them!!!) Now, Traci and Michael are set to drive back up in a couple of days to pick up Katie, who stayed for the week at Camp Grammy. We can't wait to hear how she spent her week!!!
