This morning, I took advantage of one more day off from work and headed out to the Air Force Memorial to catch a quick glimpse of the flyover of the modified 747 carrying the Space Shuttle Discovery en route to its final resting place at the National Air and Space Museum Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center. NASA did a nice job with scheduling Discovery's final flight with some celebratory flyovers of the National Mall and the D.C. metropolitan area. I'll post some better (hopefully!) pics from my SLR film camera later in the week, but here are a couple from our point-and-click digital camera.
Sad to see the shuttle program go, as evidenced by the droves of people that showed up to pay tribute. Until the next phase...
