A HUUUGE thank you to our best buddies Kim and Colleen (almost 3-years-old) for inviting us to the annual Tiny Tots Holiday Concert today. The concert is held at a local high school, where the school's symphony orchestra puts on a special educational program just for the preschool set. Before the actual show, the teenagers did a great job coming out into the audience, showing off their instruments. (Katie got to play the cow bell!) And, once the show began, the conductor explained each group of instruments (woodwinds, brass, etc.) before the entire orchestra launched into numerous Christmas songs. But, the biggest treat of all for the little kids was the costumed characters that pranced around the aisles of the auditorium, handing out high fives during the sets. Notice little groupies Colleen and Katie stretching out to give Rudolph his due! (Even Michael got into it by the end, standing up on Traci's lap with his tiny hand outstretched.)
After the concert, all of the costumed characters waited out in the hallway to greet the kids. We're a little embarrassed to report that our girls sort of hogged up a lot of Frosty's and Winnie the Pooh's time. What can we say? They are just like gabby teenagers already.
Finally, you may be wondering where Michael was in all of these pictures. He started out quite a bit intimidated by all of the commotion and noise. Here he is hiding behind a pillar back by the sound booth. He's right at the age where costumed characters scare him, but he certainly was keeping his eyes out everywhere for "Ma-Ma-Ma" (Mickey Mouse) and "Rooowrr" (Simba the Lion).
